Life After College

Attention ALL Anthros!
This Friday, November 20th, 5pm, BLB035 is Life After College!
This semester's topic: Do Not Panic! in which our panel will be discussing alternative routes (internships, jobs) so you do not have to worry about going to graduate school right after finishing college.
We will be having...
- Emma Carnes: A recent graduate of the Anthropology program and is working for the College of Arts and Sciences.
- Sasha Stearns-Droker: Another recent graduate of the Anthropology program and is currently in Mongolia teaching English to Mongolian students.
There will be free food and fun! :)

Officer Elections!

So, we have an officer spot opening in the spring semester because our VP of Finance is graduating this semester. If you are interested in being an officer, please fill out this form by this Friday, November 20th. You will also need to provide a 30 second speech about yourself and what qualifies you to be an officer.

Meet An Anthropologist!! :)

Attention ALL Anthro-peeps!

We are having our annual event, Meet An Anthropologist, this Friday at 5pm in BLB035!

We will have...

Prof. Adam Dunstan - the newest prof. in the Anthropology department. He will be speaking to us about his research in environmental anthropology.

And...

Dr. Jessica Strubel - a professor with the College of Merchandising, Hospitality & Tourism... She will be discussing her research in fashion sub-cultures and about the diversity of paths you can go with anthropology.

Did I mention there will be FREE food?!

Morgan Wilson: Went to public health school- specialty is biostatistics/epidemiology. 
Caitlin Gilmore: UNT anth alumni who pursued graduate degree in Museum Studies. !

Study Abroad in 2015!

We're about to begin our Spring 2015 semester! Whoo! That means summer will be here before you know it ;)
Make the most of your summer by traveling AND getting credit for school. It is SO important to get travel and field school experience as an ANTH undergrad. Take advantage of this time! :)

Here are a couple trips to start you off - we'll post more as we find them! Get out there and get learning!

Himalayan Anthropology Expedition 
Especially for those interested in ethnomedicine, this field school will take place June 24 - July 15 in the Himalayan region of northern India.

Archaeological Field School
Experience real archaeological work in Spain, located at a Roman settlement between the cities of Segobriga and Ercavica.
