Spring 2017 Meeting Time: Fridays 5:00 PM in BLB060

We are a group of students at the University of North Texas in Denton. We focus on educating ourselves and others about the four fields of anthropology, and how they are relevant to our daily lives.
We spend our time giving back to our community (on and off campus), holding events for fellow students, and exploring new ways to have fun.

If you're at UNT, feel free to come hangout! All Anthro majors, minors, and enthusiasts are welcome. :)
Feel free to email us with any comments or questions - anthropeopleunt@gmail.com

ASA Fall 2012 updates

Hello everyone!

Laura here, wanting to say hi and welcome back everyone to classes (almost at least)!

ASA has some exciting things going on this semester, but I do not want to get long winded, so I am going to list them below:

1. meetings are every Tuesday @ 6 pm, room and building TBA. **every last tuesday of the month will be officer meetings. this will be open to those who are interested in coming and engaging in our discussions.

2. we have signed up for make a difference day! it is Saturday, October 27th, @ 8 am to noon.

3. we are in the process of adopting a block! this means we will get a sign somewhere on campus with our name on it, and once a month we have to go tidy up the block. this also means we have to participate in a tail gating recycle event. these are usually before or after foot ball games for about three hours.

4. Some of us are planning to go to Fiesta Latinoamericana in the arts district, Sunday, October 7th, all day event.  here is a link to the event flier: http://www.dfwinternational.org/FiestaLatinoamericana/
you can either go and enjoy the event, OR volunteer if you would like.

5. Our goal is to gain visibility on campus and start participating in it. ( as you can see)

6. We will have a variety of academic events going on throughout the semester so look out for them. this also includes, some cultural outings either to DMA, or some other place. feel free to browse this calender for exciting cultural events in the dfw area http://www.dfwinternational.org/calendar/

7. last but definitely not least, Tuesday, September 4th @ 6 pm is our member round-up and meet 'n' greet. we will be playing games giving away prizes, watching short clips on what anthropology is, and munching on yummy foods. feel free to bring dues then, or later in the month.

If while reading this you had a question, comment, or concern, feel free to comment on this blog (its what its here for) or you can email anthropeopleunt@gmail.com :]
