Spring 2017 Meeting Time: Fridays 5:00 PM in BLB060

We are a group of students at the University of North Texas in Denton. We focus on educating ourselves and others about the four fields of anthropology, and how they are relevant to our daily lives.
We spend our time giving back to our community (on and off campus), holding events for fellow students, and exploring new ways to have fun.

If you're at UNT, feel free to come hangout! All Anthro majors, minors, and enthusiasts are welcome. :)
Feel free to email us with any comments or questions - anthropeopleunt@gmail.com

Chickasaw Cultural Center // March 23

This past weekend, a few ASA students made a trip to Sulphur, Oklahoma to visit the Chickasaw Cultural Center. We learned a lot about the history and cultural practices of the traditional Chickasaw people, and Chickasaw living today.

We took a lot of pictures and probably had too much fun. :)

March Adopt-a-Block

ASA WILL NOT BE MEETING THIS WEDNESDAY.

Instead, we'll be meeting up to clean our Adopt-a-Block spot at the soccer fields!
If you're signed up to help out, meet up at the bus stop on Highland, across the street from Willis Library at 4:40pm. If you're driving yourself, just meet everyone at the soccer fields!

There is no definite plan for going out afterwards, but there's definitely time to go to hookah bar, coffee shop, bowling, or whatever afterwards! Come with ideas, thoughts, suggestions :)

HAVE A WONDERFULLY LAZY/EXCITING/RELAXING/FULFILLING AND SAFE SPRING BREAK!

See y'all March 20th for our next meeting! Same time, same place. ;)
(7pm, LANG 114)

Himalayan Aroma pictures!

A few ASA members went to Himalayan Aroma, a Nepali restaurant, this past weekend to experience some new music and cuisine. Lots of fun.

Delicious Nepali Cuisine

ASA likes to take part in as many cultural field trips as possible, so if you ever have a suggestion, please let us know!

ExtravaCANza Pictures!

~ The trophies ~

We finished our design early, so there was a lot of waiting around! ;)

Our beautiful design (by Emma Carnes)

SWEET VICTORY. 1ST PLACE.
We had SO much fun at ExtravaCANza! We had a great design that followed both of the themes (hunger awareness & UNT Pride), suggested by the wonderful Emma Carnes! Thanks Emma! We also ended up donating over 400 food items to the Denton Community Food Center!
We wouldn't have won first place or had the fun we did without the hard work and great minds of ASA.
You guys rule :)
